Changes To Project

Changes To My Project

I finished filming and had to make many adjustments during shooting to make the best presentation possible. The first change I had to make was to the script during Bob was talking to his mom. In the original script he had longer sentences he would say to his mom. He was having trouble saying it all so he improvised on the spot which I felt worked because it felt more real and allowed him to express the emotions of his character than just reading straight off of a script. The next change I had was the general filming location. I picked a street to use that had a lot of streets connected so I can have multiple changes of sceneries so it looked like he was actually walking from one place to another. I got told the day before shooting that that there was a Bobcat spotted in a neighbors backyard from my Grandma. I needed to keep this same general location but I moved to another street to film the majority of the project. I was on the look out for one the majority of filming and we all were safe.

Another thing I improvised on scene was the trash can. Originally, I had it placed across the street and it would be pushed down exactly where I wanted it placed after it fell down. However, when I looked at the footage the sound was good but a little too quiet for the jump scare I wanted to achieve. To fix this I had another person hold the trash can close to Bob out of scene and slam is to the ground next to him. This keeps it loud and may actually be a believable scare for Bob. The Final change I made was the camera angles. I used my storyboard and shot list to have a general feel of what every shot should be. During filming, I improvised on the spot for a few clips which I thought a different angle would work better. A lot of the angles felt the same so I tried to incorporate unique shots throughout it. This allowed me to think on my feet more because I didn't want it to be boring.
