Production Roles

    I am doing this project individually. Serving as both the Director and Producer, I came up with the idea and built the story around the goal of the opening. I will manage all of the props needed to ensure filming goes as planned. I will build the script and sketch out the ideas on a storyboard. During production, I will serve as the director. I have three actors that I need to tell what to do while I film. I want to make the opening feel as cinematic as possible so I will make important decisions and direct the lighting and camera work. In postproduction, all of the editing and sound mixing will be done and I will execute careful cuts to deliver a polished horror movie opening.

Actors

The actors are one of if not the most important part of a film. My story has three main characters that need to be casted. The first character is Bob, who is the everyday teenager who lives a normal life. He fits the archetype of the typical person most audience members can relate to that is forced into unnatural situations and has to fight off the bad. He will serve as a relatable character that the audience can invest in. My friend Kyle will serve as Bob as the main character and teenage boy. The mother is a pivotal role in expressing emotions. She will be the safety net for Bob turned into a victim. Her voice needs to be felt once she is trapped and her expressions need to be large. My grandma, who is named Lynn is the perfect fit for this role. She is expressive and can let out a cry or scream if needed. The anxiety that is needed to be felt can be achieved from her. The killer needs to be a menacing figure that shows little emotion and feels inhuman. He needs to feel physically intimidating so I needed a man to fit the role. I have cast my Grandmas boyfriend, Michael for the role. He has the height to be imposing and he will show little empathy towards the mom. I will direct him to be as cold as possible and turn him into an inescapable dread.
